Chemistry, on point. Location, on point. Face cards, on point.
You, Me, and Tuscany hit every mark for an enjoyable romcom. This film takes you on a lighthearted, romantic, and admittedly very messy ride. And in the end, you will leave with stars in your eyes and want to book a one-way trip to Italy! I didn’t know what trope to expect but I was hoping for as much romance as possible. The film actually started off with an enemy to lovers' angle. But don’t worry it’s not what you’d think! The only time the love interest, Michael, is rude to Anna is when he orders a sandwich in a rush. Nothing beyond that. No unchecked misogyny masked as “enemies to lovers” that drags on across the movie. In fact, it takes him about two seconds to fall for her, and you can tell sooo clearly. He is an overall respectful person toward his family and friends, and that translates to Anna, the main character. Respect may seem like bare minimum but for romantic media and even IRL dating, it's a diamond in the rough.
Halle Bailey’s acting is so charming it’s as if she’s played a princess before hehe. I loved her character’s personality. She was interesting, bubbly, and curious but reserved, nonetheless. I loved the novel kind of plot they had going on. The plot felt like playing Episode ifykyk. Anna was very down to earth. Some movies have a habit of making the main characters overbearing or too “on” but that was not the case here. It was a perfect balance between side eyeing certain decisions she makes and being proud of her too. She’s a gem of a character! Halle was the perfect person for the role.
Finishing notes
At the end of the day, this movie is the best romcom I've seen, ever. And if you're a black girl with a love for soft romcoms and haven't seen it yet...what you doing?? Go see it! You'll be so glad you did. <3

This is so real!! This makes me want to rewatch it.
